Quality Control for Plastic Parts: 20-Person QC Team, Four Inspection Gates, ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
Hongqing's 20-person QC team inspects molded parts and finished products at four gates: incoming, first article, in-process and outgoing. Key dimensions are measured on 4 2D vision measuring systems and a CMM, and outgoing sampling follows GB/T 2828.1 (ISO 2859-1) AQL or your standard. The factory is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and IATF 16949 and has passed BSCI and Sedex audits.

Incoming inspection
Before production we check resin, metal parts, electronic components and packaging against spec, appearance, quantity and lot; nonconforming material never enters production.

First-article approval
Every batch starts with a first article, checked for dimensions, appearance, color and fit against the signed-off sample before mass production begins.

In-process inspection
Scheduled patrols and spot checks during molding, painting, printing and assembly, watching for sink, warpage, flash, color variation, print misalignment and assembly gaps.

Outgoing inspection
Before shipment we sample per GB/T 2828.1 (ISO 2859-1) AQL or your standard, checking appearance, dimensions, function, quantity, packaging and labels.

What does Hongqing check in a first-article inspection?
Hongqing starts every batch with a first article, which QC checks against the drawing and the signed-off sample in 4 areas: key dimensions (measured on 2D vision systems or a CMM), appearance (sink, flash, scratches, color and gloss), fit (trial assembly with mating parts) and functional requirements. Mass production starts only after the first article matches your approved sample and the record is filed; if it fails, we adjust process settings or the mold and make a new first article. This step stops problems before mass production and avoids reworking a whole batch.
What does each part of Hongqing's 20-person QC team do?
Hongqing's 20-person QC team covers 6 areas: incoming inspection, in-process inspection, dimensional measurement, reliability testing, assembly checks and outgoing inspection. Incoming inspectors check resin, metal parts, electronic components and packaging; patrol inspectors spot-check molding, painting, printing and assembly lines; dimensional checks use 4 2D vision measuring systems and a CMM; reliability tests use a temperature/humidity chamber, salt spray tester and impact tester; and outgoing inspection samples per GB/T 2828.1 AQL or your standard. When something is off, the team records it, reports it and drives the fix.
How does Hongqing confirm and measure key dimensions and tolerances?
Hongqing measures key dimensions on 4 2D vision measuring systems and a CMM, and the dimensions and tolerances on your 2D drawing are the standard. In the DFM review we confirm which dimensions are critical and whether the tolerances are achievable in tooling and molding, and suggest changes where they are not. Trial samples and every batch's first article are measured, production parts are spot-checked on a set patrol frequency, and outgoing inspection follows the agreed sampling standard. Without a 2D drawing, our engineers can propose key dimensions from your 3D files and assembly, which become the inspection basis once you approve them.
What do ISO 45001, BSCI and Sedex mean for buyers?
Beyond ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and IATF 16949 (automotive quality), Hongqing is certified to ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety and has passed BSCI and Sedex social compliance audits. The first three show that products, environmental impact and processes are managed systematically; the last three show that working conditions, labor practices and safety have been checked by third parties, which many European and US brands require when choosing suppliers.
